Message from the Chief of Police

On behalf of the dedicated members of the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Police Department, welcome to our official website.

We are committed to protecting the lives, property, and constitutional rights of our students, faculty, and staff. Through collaboration, compassion, and respect, we work to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone to learn, teach, and work.

Our Commitment to Campus Safety

The RCCD Police Department is staffed by highly trained professionals who provide full-service policing, public safety, and parking services to our diverse campus communities. Our team serves the:

    • Various off site locations

We believe in building strong, meaningful partnerships across our campuses, in surrounding neighborhoods, and with our surrounding public safety agencies.

Professional Standards and Training

We are a POST-certified law enforcement agency operating under California Penal Code §13522. Our officers are authorized under Penal Code §830.32 and Education Code §72330, granting them statewide law enforcement authority while performing their duties—equivalent to that of municipal and county officers.

In addition to standard police training, our officers receive ongoing and specialized instruction to address the unique needs of our academic environment.

24/7 Service and Local Collaboration

The RCCD Police Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We work closely with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the Riverside Police Department through formal agreements to coordinate safety efforts on and around our campuses.
