RCCD Honors Student Scholarship at 18th Annual Student Research Conference

Riverside Community College District (RCCD) celebrated student scholarship and innovation during the 18th Annual RCCD Student Research Conference, held on November 21, 2025. The conference highlighted original research conducted by students from Riverside City College, Moreno Valley College, and Norco College, underscoring the district’s commitment to undergraduate research and academic excellence.
Students submitted research abstracts and, under the guidance of faculty mentors, completed and presented their work during the conference. This year’s event featured more than 40 student presentations, spanning disciplines from literature and social sciences to mathematics, environmental studies, and aeronautics. Multiple concurrent sessions ran throughout the day, culminating in a closing plenary that recognized outstanding student research.
The 2025 RCCD Student Research Conference award recipients are:
- RCCD Chancellor’s Award: Juno Bates and Moises Sosa, Insights from Jordan Types and Piecing Together Curvature
- Riverside City College President’s Award: Boula Etans, Applications of Differential Numerical Methods in Predictive Aerospace Simulation
- Moreno Valley College President’s Award: Marilyn Gonzalez, The Impact of Warehouse Expansion on Air Quality and Health in Moreno Valley
- Norco College President’s Award: Jasleen Grewal, Langar as Political Resistance: Reimagining Equality through Sikh Economics and Collective Care
The conference concluded with a celebratory session recognizing award recipients and the faculty mentors who supported students throughout the research process. The event reflects RCCD’s ongoing investment in experiential learning and providing students with opportunities to engage in meaningful, original scholarship.
