Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Apprenticeship staff participated in the Moreno Valley Regional Job Fair on February 27th at the City of Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center. The event, which was open to the public, attracted several hundred attendees, including college students, job seekers, and Veterans, all seeking career opportunities and learning about apprenticeship programs. RCCD staff facilitated a resource table, providing information on the variety of apprenticeship opportunities available at RCCD’s three colleges: Moreno Valley College, Riverside City College, and Norco College.

RCCD offers a wide range of apprenticeship programs, including Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, Registered Nursing (RN), Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN), Early Childhood Education, Automotive, Manufacturing Technology, and Construction Trades such as Carpentry and Electricians. These programs follow the earn-while-you-learn model, combining classroom instruction with on-the-job training, and provide apprentices the opportunity to gain valuable skills in high-demand, high-paying industries.

Throughout the event, 30-minute speed workshops were held for participants. RCCD Apprenticeship, in collaboration with the LAUNCH Apprenticeship Network, hosted a session on apprenticeship opportunities for community college students in the Inland Empire region. Other workshop topics included resume writing, interview skills, veteran benefits, and entrepreneurship, focusing on how to start a small business.

Notable employers at the job fair included the City of Moreno Valley, Proctor & Gamble, California Highway Patrol, Complete Coach Works, Kaiser Permanente, and TNT Transportation.
