Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: A Community Spectacle at RCC
01/22/2025

This February, Riverside City College invites you to step into the colorful, magical world of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Under the visionary direction of Jodi Julian, this production is set to captivate audiences with its innovative staging, stunning visuals, and the timeless music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Starring RCC alumni Morgan Reynolds as Joseph and community member Chelsea Emma Franko as the Narrator, the production bridges the gap between professional and student performers. The 40-member cast includes students from RCC's acclaimed theatre program, offering them the rare opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals. "This collaboration is what makes RCC unique," says Morgan Reynolds, staring as Joseph in this production. "It’s not just a show—it’s a mentorship, a celebration of learning, and a community coming together."
The story, based on the biblical tale of Joseph, explores themes of resilience, forgiveness, and the power of dreams. Audiences will be treated to a dazzling array of costumes, a three-story set design, and video wall projections that bring this beloved story to life in an innovative way.
For Morgan Reynolds, who studied under RCC professionals such as Jodi Julian, Professor, Theatre Arts, the experience is deeply personal. "RCC was where I discovered my love for theatre. Coming back to this stage almost 20 years later feels like coming home," they share. "Morgan’s career has taken them from performing for Disney globally to now designing theme park attractions for TAIT; but the RCC stage remains a special place for them.
Chelsea Emma Franko echoes that sentiment, calling RCC a cornerstone of her early professional career. "This stage shaped me as a performer, and I hope this production inspires students to dream as big as I did," she says.
Tickets for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are on sale now, with performances running February 7–16 at RCC's Landis Performing Arts Center. This is a production you won’t want to miss—secure your seats today.
