RCCD Reports on Honors Received at Annual Public Relations Conference

Representatives of the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) received state-wide recognition and awards last week from the Community Colleges Public Relations Organization (CCPRO). Highest honors went to Peggy Lomas, RCCD's Public Affairs Officer at Riverside City College. She was given the organization's All-Pro Award recognizing her exceptional public relations expertise and many years of service to community colleges. This prestigious award is given to one CCPRO member each year at the annual conference held in April.

Lomas commented, “This award, while truly humbling for me because of the broad support I received from peers across the state, is really a reflection of my co-workers, staff, and the leaders I have worked with." She continued, “I am blessed to be surrounded by talented and committed people who together support students and the college mission."

Riverside Community College District was also honored with a Bronze award for its 2020-21 Annual Report. Gio Cardenas, RCCD's chief photographer, received a Silver Award in the Charles Cropsey Photography competition for a photo of the Fire Academy's Family Night demonstration.
