RCC President Eric Bishop Receives Element451 2026 Leadership of the Year Award

National recognition highlights visionary leadership driving student-centered innovation and institutional transformation
Riverside City College President Eric Bishop, Ed.D., has been named the recipient of the 2026 Element451 Leadership of the Year Award, a national honor recognizing higher education leaders who demonstrate exceptional vision, collaboration, and commitment to transforming the student experience through innovation.
Presented during Element451's annual conference, the Leadership of the Year Award recognizes executives who move beyond ideas to create meaningful institutional change. Honorees are selected for their ability to lead through complexity, champion innovation, support their teams, and guide their institutions toward long-term success.
Bishop was recognized for his advocacy, strategic vision, and leadership throughout Riverside Community College District's large-scale digital transformation. Under his leadership, the district has embraced innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve student engagement, streamline services, and create a more personalized experience for prospective and current students.
