DE offers the following training courses and modules for faculty. These courses & modules are self-enroll and self-paced. Faculty can earn badges (coming soon) to use for FLEX credit.

​Online Canvas Academy Course (optional)
RCCD's Online Canvas Academy (OCA) trains faculty in Canvas basics including Modules, Pages, Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, and other tools. All faculty are welcome to self-enroll in the 4-module course to learn or review these Canvas skills. While there will be no hands-on work required, please contact the Canvas Support Specialist or the Instructional Designers if you have answer questions.​​​

Accessibility Training Co​urse (optional)
RCCD's Accessibility Training course covers UDL strategies for creating accessible files, videos, and content in Canvas. At this time, all faculty can​​ choose to self-enroll in this 4-module course. On average, faculty can complete this training in about 5 hours. While there will be no hands-on work required, please contact the Accessible Technology & Media Coordinators ​if you have answer questions.​​​

Zero Textbook Cost Pathways: OER & Equity​​ Course (optional)
The ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost)​ Pathways: OER & Equity​​ course covers equity, OER (Open Educational Resources)​, guided pathways, and zero textbook courses. At this time, all faculty can​​ choose to self-enroll in this course.​​ While there will be no hands-on work required, please contact the OER Committee Chair for your college if you have answer questions.​

RSI Interaction Learning Modules (optional)
The RSI Interaction Learning Modules provide information on Regular and Substantive Interactions, how to use Canvas tools to increase the interactions in your course(s), and RSI examples faculty have shared from their courses. At this time, all faculty can self-enroll to access the information in these learning modules. While there will be no hands-on work required, please contact the Instructional Designers if you have answer questions.​​​

Course Design Camp (optional)
This Course Design Camp is self-paced, multiple module course covering Canvas basics, course development, course design, and course facilitation. Completion of each module will earn a badge. The final module provides faculty with the opportunity to apply course content and skills and create/revise 4-weeks of course content. This content will be reviewed by the Instructional Designers and Accessible Technology & Media Coordinator against the CVC-OEI’s Course Design Rubric. Feedback for alignment with the rubric will be offered. Please contact the Instructional Designers if you have answer questions.​​​
