Riverside Community College District is the fifth-largest community college District in California, serving a 450 sq. mile area in western Riverside County situated in the inland Southern California region.
RCCD comprises three colleges, each fully accredited and offering comprehensive liberal arts, sciences and general transfer programs, as well as robust career technical programs leading to an associate’s degree or certificate. Each of the colleges also offers special concentrations in certain industry sectors, with Moreno Valley College positioned as the health, human and public services college, Norco College identified for its computer game design, logistics, engineering and manufacturing programs, and Riverside City College renown for its nursing, performing arts, and applied technology programs.
In 2012-13, RCCD colleges and education centers served nearly 100,000 students through credit and non-credit courses, community education and workforce training, and customized business training and workshops.
RCCD is known for strong partnerships with public and private businesses and agencies, as well as with six local K-12 districts and five universities. These include five Early and Middle College High School programs, comprehensive education and training programs at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and joint-use facilities such as the Riverside Aquatics Complex.
The District has significantly modernized existing buildings and infrastructure and is developing and building new classrooms, laboratories and other education facilities, using a $350 million general obligation bond passed by voters in 2004 to leverage an additional $150-300 million more in state funding. Other external revenue sources include over $50 million in working state and federal grants, along with a major gifts/capital campaign targeted for the upcoming centennial celebration (RCC) and 25 year anniversaries (MVC and NC) in March 2016.
