RCC Homecoming Festivities - November 7, 2015

Riverside City College kicked off its year long Centennial Celebration with homecoming festivities on November 7. Festivities include a homecoming parade, a College-wide open house, as well as car and air shows and a free tailgate party. Former Riverside Community College District Board of Trustee member Jose Medina, who is now a member of the state Assembly and chair of the Higher Education Committee, served as the parade’s grand marshal. The Marching Tigers and two local high school bands — La Sierra and Ramona —performed.




Veterans Breakfast - November 6, 2015

Moreno Valley College launched is third community breakfast, a series of breakfasts that raise monies for scholarships for high school and college students. Its latest — Veterans Breakfast — was held on November 6 and was held in memory of Richard Tegley, USAF Ret, a longtime supporter of the College and the Riverside Community College District Foundation. The event recognized and honored MVC students, staff, faculty and community members who have served in the US Armed Services. Monies raised from the event will provide scholarships to Moreno Valley College veterans to further their educational goals. The College also holds a MLK Scholarship Breakfast (January) and a Cesar Chavez Scholarship Breakfast (March).






NC Harvest Festival - October 30, 2015

On Friday, October 30,  approximately 3,300 community members and college representatives participated in the annual Fall Festival at Norco College.  Over 4,800 pounds of candy were donated and given out.










RCC Hall of Fame Inductees - October 22, 2015

The Riverside City College Athletic Department inducted its largest Hall of Fame class on October 22 at 5 the Mission Inn Music Room, eight individuals were honored for their contributions as well as success on the playing field.






RCC Investiture - October 12, 2015

The Investiture of Dr. Wolde-Ab Isaac as the 11th President of Riverside City College took place on October 12, 2015. The ceremony was held in the Landis Performing Arts Center. Closed captioning is now available for the Presidential Investiture Ceremony of Dr. Wolde-Ab Isaac.

NC State of the College Address - October 1, 2015

Norco College President Paul Parnell presented to students, community leaders, and staff at the State of the College Address on October 1. His presentation focused on the last 25 years of education and training excellence – the past, present, and future.







RCC Welcome Day - August 29, 2015

Riverside City College welcomed over 1,300 first-time students to its third annual Welcome Day, which gives students and parents a chance to get a feel for the College as well as collect information on financial aid, programs and clubs. The day started off with a keynote speech from Wolde-Ab Isaac, president of RCC, and other presentations from program directors and deans. In addition to the students over 230 parents also toured the campus and sat in on presentations across the campus.




NC Welcome Day - August 29, 2015

On Saturday, August 29, Norco College hosted its first Welcome Day.  Over 500 students and their families attended the event.
 
“I am thrilled with the successful outcome and participation from our students, partners, staff, and families,” said Paul Parnell, president at Norco College. “The atmosphere was refreshing and was a great way for our students to obtain information about their college. I look forward to hosting this event next year.”

MVC Welcome Day - August 28, 2015

Moreno Valley College welcomed over 200 incoming students and guests to its inaugural Welcome Day on Friday, August 28, giving first- time students an opportunity to explore the campus and discover programs and services available. Students were also able to sit in on a presentation, Keys to Success, which provided studies with tools needed to successfully transition from high school to college. The event also served as the final event for the College’s Transition to Success Extended Orientation Program, which provides students with career exploration, early course registration educational planning and peer mentoring.
