The Riverside Community College District’s Safety and Police Department was awarded $6,061 in first aid equipment by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. Through the grant the department was able to acquire 45 Rip Away injury kits which are worn on the vests of district police and community service officers.
“We are thankful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for awarding RCCD the grant,” Robert Gunzel, RCCD police chief said. “First responders always are the first on the scene and having the right equipment saves lives.
Gunzel, along with District officials, joined the owners of the local Firehouse Subs, members of the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce and Loma Linda City Fire Department at a ceremony on November 15.
